The Pre-school room is within the main school building and provides a stimulating atmosphere where the children feel welcome and valued as well as safe, happy and inspired. The Early Learning Goals and Foundation Stage Curriculum are followed by our qualified, dedicated staff who provide opportunities for child-initiated learning and play whilst also introducing early reading, writing and number skills.
The Pre-school and Reception rooms are well-resourced and full use is made of the fantastic school facilities including our ICT Suite, Sports Hall, Indoor Swimming Pool, Playground, Assembly Hall, Conservatory, Playing Fields and Tennis Courts. The children can often be found exploring the extensive grounds on a 'bear hunt' or looking for mini-beasts.

The Pre-school is available for all children from the age of three years and we encourage the girls and boys in our care to be independent, responsible and caring individuals who work together in a happy, friendly environment.
The Pre-school children eat lunch with the infants and are a very important part of the school community. When they move on to Reception, they are already familiar with the class teachers, the building and their peers, so there is no great chasm to cross when they start their formal schooling in the year that they turn five years of age.
