How was Mountains Country House formed?

The events business Mountains Country House was formed in 2005 by two Fosse Bank School parents, Karen Mackie and Caroline Barker, who wanted to raise extra income for the school and saw an opportunity to do this by using the school as a venue for a number of different events.  By 2008, the events business had increased to a significant level which necessitated the formation of a limited company.  At this time, Shirley Spencer who was on the school governing board, lead and developed this income stream for Fosse Bank, which has maintained a steady flow of income and funding for school projects ever since.   In 2010, the school decided to lease the venue for weddings and events to Mr Emmet Hannan to simplify the operational side of this business and to further increase the income.  Today, you will see that the events are thriving and this partnership continues to provide the school with added benefits.

In 2010, a brand new marquee was installed by Emmet Hannan and his major investment in this installation and landscaping projects not only attracts more business but has also provided the added benefit of manicured grounds and gardens.

The events business is a significant income stream for Fosse Bank School which is going from strength to strength.
