We deliver a dynamic, exciting and balanced curriculum that captures children’s imaginations and provides them with inspiration and enthusiasm.
We have established a caring and supportive ethos that contributes to raising children’s self-esteem and confidence as well as their academic ability. We carefully monitor and review the intervention programmes and support that is embedded in the holistic approach that Fosse Bank School provides so well. The professionalism and commitment of the support staff play a significant part in helping all children realise their full potential. Each class has a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support for all children, whether individually or in a small focused group.
We have adopted rigorous and robust systems to track and monitor pupils' progress. These highlight the critical steps in children’s learning and ensure that activities are carefully matched to the needs of the individual.
Fosse Bank works closely with outside agencies such as Speech and Language therapists, Educational Psychologists and The Dyslexic Institute. Some of these specialists work within the school with our children and staff. Their skills are critical to the children’s development, and they can provide comprehensive guidance to staff so that lessons can proceed smoothly. This seamless pattern of support ensures that pupils quickly develop the self-esteem and confidence they need in order to achieve.
Children at Fosse Bank School have a history of achieving exceptionally well, with many of our children with special educational needs obtaining a grammar school place. Our pastoral care and family ethos ensure that Fosse Bank children are extremely well prepared for life beyond Primary School.
