Year 3 Events

Trips

Our last school trip was on 5th December 2012  to Kent Life where the children experienced a 'Victorian Christmas'.  This was part of our topic 'Once Upon a Time' and covered 'A Christmas Carol' by Charles Dickens. The children were delighted to meet 'Charles Dickens' and listen to him reading his stories.

Tuesday 26th June Trip tp Herstmonceux Science Centre

We enjoyed glorious weather and had great fun exploring lots of hands on science at the centre. We tried light experiments, team building, some hands on water play and the outdoor play area. We can't wait to go back! Check out our photos to see what we did.

French Picnic

Year 6 led us in some fun (and new!) French games in the wonderful sunshine. We had plenty of opportunity to shout about it, in french of course.... "Il y a du soleil!" as well as dressing up, catching mice, potato spoon races and, of course, the picnic. We had a traditional French picnic lunch including croissants and lots of fresh fruit.

This Term

This term Year 3 will be looking at the world around them.  This includes the weather, light and shadows, plants and insects.  They will be visiting the Observatory Science centre at Herstmonceux on Tuesday 26th June 2012.  There will be various activities including a telescope tour and a visit to the hands-on galleries.  It will also include a team activity of bridge building as part of their PSCHE topic of teamwork. 

Roald Dahl Day

Year 3 impressed us all with their inventiveness as well as the wide range of characters they dressed up as on Roald Dahl day. You might be able to recognise some faces in this picture, or perhaps not!
