House Meetings
23rd May 2012
Friday 16th September
Year 6 spent an exciting and educational day learning about World War II. We began by visiting Chislehurst Caves, which were used as air raid shelters. Our tour-guide made the whole experience very atmospheric and the children asked lots of thoughtful questions.
After that, we enjoyed the beautiful grounds at Chartwell and explored the house where Sir Winston Churchill, the Prime Minister during World War II, spent much of his spare time.
10th February 2012
Year 6 spent the morning as teachers, secretaries and even the head teacher (who led an excellent Celebration Assembly). They all planned, prepared and taught a lesson of Maths, Art or Literacy, followed by marking the children's work.
The quote of the day has to be from the staffroom, when a certain member of 'staff' asked "What do you all do up here? Do you just eat?"
The pupils made us all very proud today. They were extremely professional and committed to their new roles- well done!
Friday 16th March 2012
We enjoyed a fun and educational day at Hadlow College, which had a focus on sustainability. Activities included making paper bricks, using shredded newspaper to make new sheets of paper, collecting worms for home-made wormeries and developing our understanding of the 3 Rs- Reduce, Re-use and Recycle. We also visited the lambing shed.
